Operating globally across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region, Kraton Corporation specializes in producing and distributing styrenic block copolymers, an array of specialty polymers, and bio-based materials. Its business is structured into two primary divisions: Polymer and Chemical. The Polymer division focuses on high-performance materials. This includes styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) for applications in paving and roofing, and styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) for personal care products. It also supplies ethylene-vinyl acetate, polyolefins, and metallocene polyolefins, primarily used in adhesives. Additionally, this segment develops advanced specialty polymers like hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer, isoprene rubber, and isoprene rubber latex, which find utility in medical and personal care items, various adhesives and tackifiers, and paints and coatings. Meanwhile, the Chemical division delivers an extensive range of pine-based specialty chemicals. These encompass rosin-based tackifiers crucial for packaging and pressure-sensitive adhesives, and terpene-based tackifiers utilized in bookbinding, hygiene products, and pressure-sensitive adhesive formulations. This segment also produces alpha-methyl-styrene (AMS) resins and hot melt polyamides, which are vital for flexible packaging, industrial processes, and road construction. Furthermore, it offers products derived from tall oil, such as tall oil fatty acids, tall oil rosin, distilled tall oil, and tall oil pitch, alongside rosin-based binders, all supporting the thermoplastic pavement marking market. The division is also a producer of insoluble maleic-based tackifiers. Rounding out its chemical portfolio are terpene-based tread enhancement resins and AMS-based tread enhancement additives. Moreover, dimer acids and terpene fractions are provided for diverse applications, including fuel additives, oilfield chemicals, mining fluids, various coatings, metalworking fluids, and lubricants. Kraton markets its products under the Kraton brand through a diverse network comprising its direct sales force, marketing representatives, and distributors. Established in 2009, the company, formerly known as Kraton Performance Polymers, Inc., adopted its current name, Kraton Corporation, in September 2016. Its headquarters are located in Houston, Texas.
