The company's operations are divided into two primary divisions: Digital Currency Mining and Energy Solutions. Its Digital Currency Mining segment is dedicated to the extraction of bitcoin. The Energy Solutions division offers a comprehensive suite of services, including engineering expertise, software development, bespoke hardware, and solutions for open automated demand response, solar power, and energy storage. These offerings cater to microgrids and decentralized energy systems, serving a diverse client base across military, commercial, and residential sectors. This segment also develops sophisticated platforms that facilitate the creation, deployment, operation, and management of various energy assets. Key products within this portfolio include mPulse and mVoult, which are control systems designed to integrate and optimize diverse energy sources. It also provides Canvas, a middleware platform empowering grid operators and aggregators to oversee demand-side management programs, and Plaid, a similar middleware enabling control and Internet-of-Things companies to engage in such initiatives. Furthermore, mVSO is proprietary software for internal microgrid design and modeling. CleanSpark also possesses innovative gasification energy technologies, including those used to produce feedstock for di-methyl ether. Beyond these core activities, CleanSpark offers technology consulting, encompassing design and software development. It also extends data center facilities, providing rack space, power, and essential equipment, alongside a suite of cloud services like virtual servers, virtual storage, and data backup solutions. Originally established in 1987 as Stratean Inc., the company rebranded as CleanSpark, Inc. in November 2016. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Henderson, Nevada.
