The Duff & Phelps Select MLP and Midstream Energy Fund Inc., formerly known as Duff & Phelps Select Energy MLP Fund Inc., functions as a non-diversified, closed-end investment management company. At least 80% of the Fund's managed capital is dedicated to energy master limited partnerships (MLPs) and midstream energy enterprises not organized as MLPs. Up to 20% of its managed assets may be allocated to securities of other energy sector companies that are not MLPs, or to firms whose primary offerings support the energy industry, such as sand miners, certain chemical producers, and coking coal processors. The Fund's focus on midstream energy companies includes entities involved in the gathering, processing, marketing, and transport of energy commodities like crude oil, natural gas, refined products, and natural gas liquids. Virtus Alternative Investment Advisers, Inc. acts as the investment advisor to the Fund, while Duff & Phelps Investment Management Co. serves as its sub-advisor.
