This ETN provides investors with a way to gain exposure to the performance of futures contracts, but it does not offer direct access to the actual physical commodity. The underlying index is made up of one or more futures contracts pertaining to the specific commodity (known as "index components"). It is designed to emulate the potential profits that can be achieved from both (1) a straightforward investment in those contracts and (2) the interest yield obtainable from cash collateral placed in particular Treasury Bills.
