In addition to its core utility functions, Alliant Energy owns and operates a short-line rail freight service, a multi-modal freight terminal (encompassing barge, rail, and truck operations) on the Mississippi River, and a rail-served warehouse, all located in Iowa. It further provides freight brokerage services. The company also maintains interests in a 347-megawatt (MW) natural gas-fueled electric generating unit situated near Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, and a 225 MW wind farm located in Oklahoma.
